After-Action Review

Anytime the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) is activated, whether an actual crisis or exercise, an after-action report (AAR) is produced by Emergency Management in conjunction with the involved department(s) after the incident or exercise is over. An after-action meeting is scheduled, and corrective actions identified are assigned to the corresponding groups through the use of an Improvement Plan. These corrective actions may be met through training, funding, personnel, or other needs identified.

AARs can be implemented for any event, whether planned or unplanned. This AAR template can be utilized by any WFU department/organization.
