Engagement Leadership Team

Dr. Magjuka leads the Engagement area, which includes the Benson University Center, Office of Civic & Community Engagement, Office of Fraternity & Sorority Engagement, Intercultural Center, Office of Leadership Engagement, LGBTQ+ Center, Office of Student Engagement, and Women’s Center. In this role, Dr. Magjuka partners across the Division of Campus Life to foster a vibrant, inclusive student experience. Dr. Magjuka has served in a variety of roles at Wake Forest, including Director of Campus Life, Assistant Dean of Students, and founding Executive Director of the Office of Civic & Community Engagement. Previously, Marianne worked at Baylor University and Florida State University. She is active in NASPA, where she was the founding co-chair of the Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement Knowledge Community. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and a doctorate in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania. In her free time, Marianne loves to cook, travel, and chase her toddler, Sofia Pearl.

As Executive Director of Student Engagement, Dana provides strategic leadership for student involvement, fraternity and sorority life, and student-centered programming at Wake Forest University. Dana works collaboratively across Campus Life to foster a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging student experience that supports leadership development, belonging, and community connection. A first-generation college graduate, Dana is both a product of and a passionate advocate for small private liberal arts institutions. Throughout her career, Dana has built a broad portfolio of experience spanning residence life, leadership development, student government, fraternity and sorority life, hazing prevention, student organizations, community service and civic engagement, union and facilities management, large-scale programming, and campus traditions. Prior to joining Wake Forest, she served in professional roles at Denison University, Elon University, Wittenberg University, and Otterbein University. Dana’s professional involvement includes active engagement with ACPA, NACA, and NASPA. In her free time, Dana enjoys working out at Burn Boot Camp, reading, spending time (especially outside) with her family, and, when she’s not cheering on the Deacs, cheering on all things Ohio sports (O-H!).

Rebecca Harkless is the inaugural Executive Director of Community and Cultural Engagement. In this role, she creates a cohesive, strategic vision for the Office of Civic & Community Engagement, Intercultural Center, LGBTQ+ Center, and Women’s Center. Prior to coming to Wake Forest, Rebecca served as the Director of the Harvey and Lucinda Gantt Center at Clemson University. She held roles at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the YWCA of Central Alabama. A Birmingham native, she holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Alabama.

Lacey Hatcher serves as the Operations Manager for Engagement, where she manages financial, communications, and administrative operations for the Engagement area and provides key administrative support to the Assistant Vice President. A 2013 Wake Forest graduate – majoring in Communications with a minor in Sociology – Lacey previously worked in Athletics Event Operations before transitioning to Campus Life. In her current role, she leads the Student Activity Fee (SAF) Committee, assists with recruitment and staff onboarding, and supports digital communications and website management. Lacey also contributes to major campus traditions like Family Weekend and serves as a certified CliftonStrengths Coach, facilitating sessions for student groups across campus.
