A valuable part of the student experience is leadership and work opportunities that foster personal and professional growth and build career experience. Below are opportunities in leadership, pre-orientation, and peer education groups available to you as a student.
Opportunities can be paid or unpaid, offer structure or flexibility and require different lengths of commitment. Find the one that’s right for you below!

Summary: Deacon Camp provides first-year students a 360° view of the Wake Forest experience through learning traditions and athletics, meeting various Demon Deacon coaches, getting an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at Wake Athletics and the traditions that create meaningful memories.

Summary: The Fresh in the Forest Pre-Orientation program provides direct support to incoming first-generation college students and other students who may be unfamiliar with the college environment and Wake Forest campus culture.

Summary: students will reflect on virtues such as courage, justice, empathy and humility and do a close examination of how student leaders can have an impact at Wake Forest and their larger communities by knowing their character and leading with it.

Summary: R.E.C. is a Recreation based pre-orientation program that provides members of the incoming class the opportunity to Engage with their peers and build a newfound sense of Community.

Summary: Students Promoting Action and Responsibility in the Community (S.P.A.R.C.) is a service-oriented pre-orientation program. You’ll provide direct service hours to local nonprofit organizations, while learning about the issues impacting Winston-Salem and building relationships with fellow Demon Deacons interested in living out the Pro Humanitate motto.

Summary: Summit introduces first-year students to the breadth of Christian life at Wake Forest. You will have the opportunity to connect with the larger group during chapel services and other organized activities, and also connect more intimately during small groups and free-time activities.

Summary: WakeABLE is designed to introduce students from diverse backgrounds, or any student valuing inclusive business practices, to key business professional development concepts that will aid their college and professional career journeys.

Size: 8 other incoming students
Summary: You’ll backpack, rock climb, canoe, camp, and more while exploring North Carolina’s scenic wilderness. while forming a tight-knit community with the other incoming students adventuring alongside you.
